Our foundation had the privilege of meeting 12 year old Miss Katrina Breemersch and her family last year. Katrina has dealt with many severe health issues since the age of 3 and undergone a multitude of medical procedures. However upon meeting her it was evident that Katrina was a positive, loving little girl who, with the help from her parents, brother and sisters was meeting her health challenges with courage & strength far beyond her years! Her Dream was to see Disney World and we were able to fulfill her request in December. The Breemersch family were able to spend a fun and sun-filled week at the Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida and experience the magic of Disney. The pictures this loving tight knit family provided us is evidence of the wonderful experience they were able to share & we were so proud to supply. However, the most rewarding finish to this Dream was the thank you we received written by Katrina herself along with help from her sisters, Britteny and Brooke and brother Kendrick. The following is the letter we received from Katrina and her family & why making Dreams come true for our foundation is so rewarding!
From the bottom of our Hearts we Thank the Westman Dreams for Kids for this truly life time experience.
We are writing this to you to thank you very much for giving us our experience of going to Disney World and letting us stay at Give Kids The World Village. It was a very fun experience and we hope we can go back to the village some time and volunteer there. One of our favorite parts of Disney World was going to the adventure water slide park. Another fun time was the dolphin show at Sea World and being able to pet the dolphins. We also really enjoyed the rides at all the different kingdoms. It was very hard to just pick one thing that we liked doing while in Florida. Give Kids The World Village was also a very fun place to be in if you wanted a down day with your family after all of the exciting kingdoms. Plus, the food at the gingerbread house was AMAZING and we all had fun at the pirate pool and the enchanted carousel. Katrina and Dad can’t stop talking about the unlimited amount of ice cream at Give Kids the World with the motto of ‘Ice Cream for Breakfast’ which we mostly achieved. During our stay we made a donation to Give Kids the World in Honor of Katrina which allowed us to have a paving stone with our name, date and where we are from on the Avenue of Angels. I have also attached some photos for you. The most emotional experience that Katrina got was she was given the opportunity to make a wish and decorate her star to put up in the House of Miracles. Every child that stays at Give Kids the World is given this phenomenal heartfelt experience that is treasured for life. It was over whelming once we saw her star with all the others that covers the ceiling in this whole building.
We can never be able to Thank you enough for this experience, we cherish the memories and carry them with us everyday.
Yours truly with love,
Katrina Breemersch Family.
Brian, Kristen, Britteny, Katrina, Brooke and Kendrick
